Who she is
Mary Saint is recruited at the Supermarket, and she is a distinct survivor rather than part of any combined name. She is tied to the Saint family, a group wrapped up in one of the game's stranger threads, in which the Saints are said to be able to sing to the undead and steer them. That connection places her on the eerier edge of the county's survivors, closer to the cult's worldview than to the soldiers or bikers.
How to recruit her
The Supermarket is one of the Act 1 maps, so reaching Mary means clearing your way through it. As with the rest of the roster, whichever weapon class and specialization you invest in through use is the direction she grows, so slot her into whatever gap your squad has once she joins. Keeping her alive adds another body to a militia that has to be broad enough to survive the horde.
