Urban Strife Companions
There are twelve named survivors to recruit across Urban Strife, and building a balanced militia out of them is central to surviving the campaign. Three start in your party at Urban Shelter, while the rest are scattered across the prologue suburbs and the Act 1 maps, each with their own role, background and faction ties.
The full roster
Every companion below is a permanent recruit, so losing one in combat is permanent. Faction lean matters because siding hard against a group can put its people out of reach. Roles are how each survivor is commonly played; because attributes grow through use, you can steer any of them toward a different specialty over time.

Your starting three
Kaylee Adams, Lucy Li and Billy Bo Hicks are in your party from the opening mission. Kaylee is the default sharpshooter, Lucy is the medic who keeps infection and injury in check, and Billy rounds out the early squad. Keeping all three alive through the prologue suburbs is the foundation of a stable Act 1, since no recruit comes back once lost.
The suburbs add Bubba Gimme, Brother Joseph and Benny Ramm, each tied to a faction, while the Act 1 maps bring specialists such as the master mechanic Reginald Owen and the heavy-melee bruiser Bear Novak. Follow any name in the roster above for a full recruit walkthrough and role breakdown.
